Johnson breaks state meet course record By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor Junior Dustin Horter and senior India Johnson ran to Division 1 cross country titles at the Ohio state championships at National Trails Raceway. Horter, from Lakota East, improved from third place in 2015. He ran 15:02.8 for the win. Solon, the top boys team in the state and a group with NXN aspirations, scored 71 points to win the team title. Johnson ran, of Hilliard Davidson, ran 17:28.6 to establish a new course record. She was second in 2015. Allison Guagenti of Oletangy Orange was second in 17:35.7. Centerville retained its D1 crown with 120 points. Troy was second with 145. Leah Roter of Beachwood won the D2 girls race in 17:55.1 and led the entire way. She won by seven seconds. Zach Kreft from Buckeye Valley cruised to victory in the D2 boys race, running 15:16.4 for a resounding 25-second winning margin. Woodridge swept the boys and girls team titles. In D3, Emily Sreenan ran 18:01.8 to win the individual title for Lima Central Catholic. Chad Johnson from Colonel Crawford won the boys race in 15:18.4. Fort Loramie won the boys championship with 97 points, while Minster took home the girls’ top trophy with 38 points.
